Environment, Resources and Technology Section

The Section Environment, Resources and Technology research in agricultural aspects of environment, resource use and technology. The purpose is to find a more efficient use and protection of soil and water resources in the plant production under different forms of management. Transport of water and mater in the soil-plant-atmosphere system is very important in this context. The subject area focus on better process and system understanding on different scales in temperate and tropical climate conditions.

The Section use the term multi functional agriculture to signal the Department involvement with the broader aspects of agriculture. The group has the following special competences: Development of mathmatical modul tools that integrates understanding of soil and plant processes; invention and development of intelligent machnes, bio-system instruments and precision agriculture; organic farming and integration of expertise on processes and single components in a system frame.

The Section has the follwing overall objectives:

The group wants to contribute to research via experimental work and modelling within agro-hydrology, sustainable organic farming and technology and also contribute to a more efficient use and protection of soil and water resources in the plant production under different forms of management.
The group will develop scientific expertise on process and system understanding and technological aspects of agriculture on different scales in temperate and tropical climate conditions.
